It's been quite some time since I stay in Kulim over the weekends, I usually go back to Ipoh, either following my dad's car or drive back by myself. However, my group is having a milestone celebration at the Shangri-La Rasa Sayang Hotel on Friday night, and so I decided to meet up with a friend in the Starbucks Drive-Thru before going back to Kulim. We chat until late in the midnight before calling it a day and I was touring around in island for almost 30 minutes before I got the right turn and headed straight to the bridge and then back to Kulim.
I woke up quite late on Saturday morning, so I decided to have a simple breakfast of milk and some biscuits before I shower and then go to the town for my lunch. I only realized that I still have less than RM10 in my wallet by the time I reached the Lum Kee Restaurant, but I guess it will still be sufficient for my lunch. After my lunch I got back home and then start to do some clean up to the kitchen, I wonder why the lizards in Kulim shit so much that if you did not wash away the lizard shits, the kitchen will be full of those.
While doing that, I do boil some water and then make myself a cup of Nescafe and keep it in the fridge so that I can sip the cool iced coffee that I made earlier while watching TV. It's been quite a fast day on Saturday and I only have oats with some fruits for my dinner. After the dinner, I surf net for a while for some news while watching some Chinese movie which was on air at that time before I go to bed.
Sunday morning is quite a breeze actually, having light breakfast while checking on the latest football scores and news before I shower and then head to McD for my lunch, in which I was criticized by my brother that it was not healthy. And so after that I go back to the house where I packed all the unused and old items in the kitchen and throw it away and then continue watching TVB series, Awfully Lawful before watching one of the Stephen Chow movie which I had in my external hard disk.
Next I go to the nearest Tesco for grocery shopping. I bought a Sashimi knife as well, and as it was razor sharp, I decided to put the knife into good use by cutting the cucumber and tomato which I bought into small pieces as a sides for my dinner or maybe even breakfast for the next few days. I even made myself two sets of chicken meatloaf sandwich for the night it feels satisfying having dinner made by myself.

After tiring first day holiday in KL, the following day, we went to Setapak area nearby where my brother stay to check on the local food around the area; at the same time understanding his weekly meals when he is not back to Ipoh. And so he drove us there to one of the Kopitiam that he usually had his breakfast and we had our breakfast there. The food wasn't nice, but it's not bad either and it is reasonably price. I believe it is so due to majority people around the area might be the students from nearby colleges.
Next stop we went to the Midvalley Megamall, where we just window shop at The Gardens Mall as well as the Midvalley Megamall before we finally had our lunch at the Little Penang Kafe. I won't describe how the food taste but definitely not comparable with the hawkers from Penang and it cost a bomb. After that we had Starbucks inside The Borders Bookstore in The Gardens Mall while I met up with a friend in the Starbucks just opposite of the building.

After that we went back to the condo to have some break and freshen up before we go to Port Klang for seafood dinner. The journey is kinda tiring, taking about an hour to reach there; but it's a new experience having seafood nearby the port. Overall the seafood is quite good, and I did blog about the food in my Jason's Food Haven at the Seafood at Port Village Seafood Restaurant at Tanjung Harapan, Port Klang.
Finally after the dinner, I also went to the I-City together with a cousin of mine as my younger sister and I follow their car to Klang due to the I-City is just around the corner. I-City is the digital light city and at night we can see the theme park beautifully lit up by the digital lights. The I-City still undergoing development and it is one of the tourist spot in Selangor. We will see what happens when the I-City is 100% completed.
After tiring walk around the I-City we went back to the condo and continue our "brainstorming" session there until late night where everyone goes back to their place and we slept there.

Had a long weekends last week as the Hari Raya holiday coincides with the weekends, so it also means holiday. It is always a mass exodus from the city center to the northern region, so we decided to go the opposite direction. And so my family decided to go to the Kuala Lumpur for holiday, and meet up with my sister, who will be coming back from Singapore, while the rest of my extended family members will be staying put during the Raya weekends.
We start our journey on Friday morning from my house after breakfast to pick my brother's girlfriend before driving southbound to Kuala Lumpur. As expected, the traffic is as smooth as silk; so we reached there just in time for lunch with my aunt's family as well as my brother and sister who were already there the night before. We had our lunch at the food court inside the Publika mall - this is in fact my first time in Publika. The choices there is not much actually, but I find that the paper wrapped chicken from the New Shanghai Legend Restaurant is not that bad.
Of course, after having our lunch we went back to my aunt's place to rest and have chit chat with family members while deciding on the dinner. We had our dinner at the Apartment Downtown at Suria KLCC, I guess it is actually fun to have dinner with so many family members around, roughly fifteen of us on the table. After the dinner, we have free activities whereby most of us walk around at the shopping mall. The Suria KLCC is quite packed actually and I can see a lot of Banglas shopping at the Suria KLCC, maybe because it is holiday season for them as well.
Later that night, we had a mini birthday celebration for my sister before we called it a day. My younger sister purposely bring the cake outside from Malaysia when she is on the way back from Singapore and we opened up a bottle of wine as well as some of the junk food that my sister bought from Singapore. I really enjoyed the night where we can talk with each of the family members while sipping some red wine enjoying the KLCC view from the condo; at the same time watching Jackie Chan movie.
Well, that sums up the first day of holiday in Kuala Lumpur.
