Ipoh House Renovation Progress - Part 5
It's been months since I last post my house renovation progress, the last one being Ipoh House Renovation Progress - Part 4. Indeed during the last few months there was not much updates except to move some of the smaller stuff to the house bit by bit, but more importantly the progress have to be stalled halfway due to the death of both my grandparents, one after another.
The living hall |
We were supposed to move in to the house by then, but the schedule have to push out slightly for the funeral as well as other stuff. Even if those incidents did not take place, the moving in progress will also be delayed slightly due to the the delay in delivery of our dining table and chairs.
The dining set, which the delivery was delayed more than a month |
Anyway, everything is over and so here we go again, continue the progress of the house renovation. Major renovation has been completed since the Part 4 post, and in this post is mostly on the installation of my living hall's home theater set.
So, we get transporter service from a friend of our aunt's and had bigger stuff move into the house via the lorry last Saturday morning and have those unpack in within few hours before we finally decided to have our lunch at the McD nearby.
After our lunch, we passed by Sen Heng, so we decided to get the TV set as well, while waiting TM technicians to fix our telephone line and have our broadband service ready. Bought 2 sets of TV and a home theater set and it those really burn a big hole in my pocket - but I was feeling a bit excited as the salesman told me that they can deliver on that day itself, only to have me disappointed at night when he called and told me that they will deliver the next day.
Nevertheless the home theater and TVs were delivered the next day and the technician helped me to fix the bracket to fix the TV against my TV cabinet and setup the TV with the TV antenna as well as the home theater, and to cut the story short, we have the TV and home theater up and running in about few hours of setting up - too bad I don't really have much time to play with it yet :(

Later at night, me and my sister setup the Christmas as Christmas is just around the corner - so we fill the house with Christmas mood.

Just came back from my four days, three nights Singapore trip this year
yesterday late evening thinking maybe it's time to post some updates on
what I did over the holidays in Singapore.
Well, I started from to drive from 11 something on Thursday night after having coffee session with my parents to Kuala Lumpur to pick my brother at his apartment before continue the journey to Singapore, which will take about 6 hours. Reached the second exchange link and then I directly drive to my younger sister's place which is at Tanjong Pagar. We are kind of lucky as the parking at Tanjong Pagar Plaza for the Hari Raya Haji public holiday is free.
Then we have our breakfast at Tom and Toms Coffee at Tanjong Pagar before taking the MRT at the Tanjong Pagar MRT Station to the Gardens by the Bay, and to my surprise, the Gardens by the Bay is just opposite of the grand Marina Bay Sands.

Ipoh House Renovation Progress - Part 4
It's been more than a month since I last update on my Ipoh house renovation progress - the last post on the renovation progress being at the Ipoh House Renovation Progress - Part 3 in July. Nevertheless, during August time frame, we do a lot of moving in stuff, like moving in those clothes that we rarely wear, disassemble and assemble my display cabinet which I bought in Ikea like one to two years back.
Anyway, during this time also we source our bar stools, dining table and chairs and other furniture which might deemed important in a home - well, the bar stools are important as I have a bar over there. It also took us a while to decide on the dining table and chairs set - after considering the budget and the size of the whole set, although the bar stools selection was like a swift due to I have it in mind what I wanted.
After that, I decided I have enough money to build another 2 built-in wardrobes - in my room and my sister's room and another table in my room. We ask our interior designer to draw out the plan for us and I feel that is what I wanted, so we asked him to go ahead and build the wardrobe. And finally, we have that installed as well.

Birth Date Characteristics
Found this birth date characteristics while I was surfing net and found that my traits are quite accurate. So, what about you guys?
If you are a Dog: A very loyal and sweet person.Your loyalty can never be doubted. You are quite honest and sincere when it comes to your attitude towards working. You are a very simple person, indeed. Absolutely hassle free, humble and down-to-earth!! That explains the reason why your friends cling on to you! You have a good taste for clothes. If your wardrobe is not updated with what is trendy, you sure are depressed. Popular and easy-going. You have a little group of dignified friends, all of them being quality-personified.
If you are a Mouse: Always up to some sort of a mischief! The mischievous gleam in your eyes is what makes you so cute and attractive to everyone. You are an extremely fun-to-be-with kind of person. No wonder, people seek for your company and look forward to include you for all get-togethers. However, you are sensitive, which is a drawback. People need to select their words while talking to you. If someone tries to fiddle around and play with words while dealing with you, it is enough to invite your wrath. God bless the person then!
If you are a Lion: Quite contradictory to your name, you are a peace loving person. You best try to avoid a situation wherein you are required to fight. An outdoor person, you dislike sitting at one place for a long duration. You are a born leader, and have it in you how to tactfully derive work from people. You love being loved, and when you receive your share of limelight from someone, you are all theirs!!!! Well, well... hence some people could even take an advantage, flatter you to the maximum and get their work done. So be careful.....
If you are a Cat: An extremely lovable, adorable person, sometimes shy, with a passion for quick wit. At times, you prefer quietness. You wouldn't like to retaliate even to a person who is in the wrong. You are loved due to this. You do not wish to talk behind one's back. People love the way you always treat them. You can give, give and give love, and the best part is that you do not expect it back in return. You are generous enough.Seeing things in a practical light is what remains the best trait of you guys.

Getting My Car's Rear Absorber Shock Replaced
Today I took my car for a ride to Pusat Perkhidmatan Fook Chye to have my car's rear absorber shock replaced. It has been a while since I come to know that the rear absorber start to leak oil, identified by one of the service agent in Toyota Service Center as well as another service person who always do the car balancing and rotation for me.
Even before the issue identified by these car experts, I already feel that my car was making very loud noise every time I went through bumps, or whenever I brake, and the noise sounds like things inside my car moving about.
Anyway, the whole replacing of the absorber process took about an hour from disassembling the old absorber and replacing it with new ones. According to the mechanic, the current generation of Toyota Vios is more difficult to change as he needs to like it was locked inside, making the screwing and unscrewing of the absorber difficult.
Well, the car is fixed now and I'm having a better experience of driving already, as before the absorber was replaced the car often wiggle back and forth. So, I feel that the bonus that I received few days ago utilized meaningfully.

Ipoh House Renovation Progress - Part 3
This is the 3rd installment of my Ipoh house renovation progress. Refer to Ipoh House Renovation Progress and Ipoh House Renovation Progress - Part 2 for the first two part of the renovation progress.
Finally, after about a month of waiting, the house TV cabinet is up and the same goes to my parents wardrobe - so, can say the house is in move in condition. Other upgrades include some minor add-on to the bar.
The best part of the whole house renovation is the mini garden of the house is about 50% done, well, the grass started to grow, the same goes to those plants. I'm not sure how long will it takes for me to be able to have roselle drink from my own garden or umbra juice, although our mint plant grow so fast that we can start to eat from it already :D
My mum and my sister will be going over to the house to clean up as well to move some stuff over.

It's Euro 2012 Final Tonight
Time flies......seriously. It seems like New Year was just yesterday and in the blink of an eye, we are at the second half of the year. This year is full of major event from footballing to Olympics. Just as we starts off the second half of the year, we will be having Euro 2012 Final.....the match between Spain and Italy - which I foresee the battle will most likely be at the midfield.
I am not a supporter for Italy nor Spain, but tonight I definitely will watch these two teams play and will be siding Italy, due to the fact that my brother is Italy supporter. So, what is the preparation that majority of the football fans do to stay awake towards the three hours of match (assuming we will play until penalty shoot-out)
Well, for me, I took a nap in the afternoon, hmmm, actually, it was more like sleep halfway while I was watching TV. Anyway, my energy level now is 400%, like Iron Man, when he was struck by lightning by Thor in the Avengers movie. Well....still five hours more to go.
Besides taking the extra sleep before hand, I also bought some junk food and prepare few cups of coffee so that I have enough sugar and energy to cheer the Italians. Luckily today showing an old Hong Kong comedy Happy Ghost, so I have some entertainment before football and then I will cook some tom yam flavored instant noodle to boost up my energy level. So, how do you go on preparing for the Euro 2012 Final?

Ipoh House Renovation Progress - Part 2
Last 2 weeks, I blogged about the progress of the renovation of my house in Ipoh, so decided to continue the momentum of blogging about it this round. Refer to the Ipoh House Renovation Progress for that post.
This post will be more of the progress of kitchen cabinets and the mini bar that I have in my house. Well, the cabinets were supposedly done in the mid of May, finally completed last weekends, well not really 100% done, but can consider so - only awaiting some minor touch up to the cabinets. If you asked me, I will not say the workmanship is perfect, but I can say it's totally acceptable and I'm ok with it, anyway.
The whole process of waiting the cabinets to be up was like crazy. I mean the whole process of assembling the cabinet to be completed like a month back, only to realized that he re-took the measurement on and off to finalized his design. And then when I was back there during one of the weekend, he only managed to complete the wet kitchen cabinet, which is too slow, but unfortunately he must do all the sawing back in his factory due to the complaint from my neighbour. Anyway, was glad that finally he manage to assemble everything for me to see over the last weekends while I was still in Ipoh. Next step is to design the TV cabinets and some wardrobes - which I'm hopeful to see the everyone moving in by end of the year - and have house warming during the Christmas season.

Ipoh House Renovation Progress
I have never blogged about the progress of the renovation of my house back in Ipoh but I think maybe I can blog about it in this blog. Well, I got this house about 2 years back and the only reason me and my younger sister decided to get it is because of the location. The house is quite old, to be honest, so, we are sort of getting the land only, which also means that the house will need a major renovation which would definitely cost a bomb - in fact the cost of building a new house.
Ok. After completed the house transaction with the lawyer and bank loans, we spend some time to decide whether we want to have full 2 storeys or rather have a one and half storey and we finally decided to have a full 2 storeys so that we can build another master room. Fast forward three to four months later, the construction house structure is completed and then fast forward another two to three months, we have all the plaster ceiling, tiling, painting, wiring and piping installation done.
Just last few months back, we finally have the windows and grill and doors installed and finally the house is completed and we finally get the key from our contractor. No lighting and fans yet, but yea, the house is ready for move in. I took few days off to decide on curtains and the decorative lights, down lights and fans as we think these are the most important things in a house. And now we got the curtains and lightings as well.
While all those were installed, I talked to one guy to do our kitchen cabinets and now we are in the progress of waiting for the kitchen cabinets. Last few weeks, finally we decided to start buying some furniture slowly while awaiting for our kitchen cabinet and finally we got our sofas and coffee table already.
